Hey y’all!

Well this was a week full of miracles!

Tuesday was Mary Ann’s birthday and she asked us to come read the Book of Mormon with her in the morning to start it off right! (Here’s a little back story: she’s been a member of the church for 3 years and everyone has been trying so hard to help her get worthy to be able to go to the temple but nothing has really seemed to motivate her to do it. The bishop has been trying so hard for so long.) She told us how she was doing sooo much family history all weekend and feels so much urgency to get worthy to go to the temple so that she can go get all these people’s work done! It’s crazy because nothing has motivated her in the past and the spirit of Elijah is so real and it’s hit her hard and now she’s doing everything she can to be able to get there!

We’ve worked with Linda a lot this week and she continues to amaze me! Tuesday we had a lesson with her. At church on Sunday she overheard someone talking about eternal marriage and asked us about it. We told her about it and she showed sooo much interest in it because her first husband passed away 7 years ago and she loved him so much and her current husband is really terrible to her, so she wants more than anything to be with her first husband again. We went on with teaching the lesson and she didn’t say much until she just stopped and said, "Sisters, I’ve decided I want to go through with becoming a Mormon. How do we go forward?" Man it was sooooo cool! We taught her a few other times this week and she is so solid and doing so well!

Friday we had a really cool multi-zone conference with Elder Craig C. Christensen of the Presidency of the Seventy. He mostly talked about the Spirit and he put it in such a cool perspective that I’ve never heard of or thought about before. One of the things I loved that he talked about is the the Spirit loves us! He is a member of the Godhead and he loves us soooo much just like the other members of the Godhead. How cool is that?! We are SO loved.

Have a blessed week!
All my love,
Sister Oscarson

Nicole’s Baptism!

Hey y’all!

Soooo much has happened these past 2 weeks!! Like seriously life is so good.

Nicole was baptized on August 12!!! She kept saying how ready and happy she was! She was absolutely glowing and it was the cutest thing I’ve ever seen! Wow I love her soooo much ❤ We’ve started her new member lessons and she is doing awesome! The ward has been so good about supporting and helping her and she is so happy!

Also last week our best friend Ana was a huge help to us!! We are so grateful for her! But sadly she went back to BYU this week. So we’re heartbroken but happy we got her for a little bit.

So remember the dollar store miracle lady that found the pamphlet and came to church?! Her name is Linda and she’s come to church 4 times now and we’ve been teaching her and she is so incredible! She is SO receptive of the spirit and willing to learn. She’s elect, people. ELECT.

We had a wonderful trip to the temple and got a wonderful new ward mission leader and have taught a lot of wonderful people!

Here’s a quote from Elder Holland I found this week that I love:
"Inherent in all of this is a rather simple definition of the gospel, at least when considered in its essence. The word gospel as we use it in English comes down to us through early scriptural language which meant literally “good news” or sometimes “glad tidings.” The “good news” was that death and hell could be escaped, that mistakes and sins could be overcome, that there was hope, that there was help, that the insoluble was solved, that the enemy had been conquered. The good news was that everyone’s tomb could one day be empty, that everyone’s soul could again be pure, that every child of God could again return to the Father who gave them life."

All my love,
Sister Oscarson

Hey y’all!

So today is a weird p-day because of our temple trip! So we’re in Birmingham for the day and basically I have no time to email. But know that all is well and we had a great week! Nicole got baptized on Saturday and confirmed on Sunday! It was the best day ever and she is soooooo happy! I’ll tell you all about it and send you all the cute pictures on Monday.

Have a great weekend! Sorry this is so quick!

All my love,
Sister Oscarson

The struggle is real but so is God

Hey y’all!

So basically this has been the greatest week! We have been sooo busy and so many cool things have happened!

This week a member of our ward, Ana, got home from her mission in Arizona! She was our best friend this week and helped soooo much! She went out with us the day after she got home (Wednesday) and then a couple times after that. On Wednesday we went and saw Thomasina again and taught her about the atonement. The spirit was so, so strong! We saw such a change in her, it was pretty amazing. That night we had dinner with our favorite Sister Yow and laughed the entire time. She kills me.

Thursday we had the last district meeting of the transfer so that was sad. No joke this is probably the best district I’ve had my whole mission. That night we visited Megan and Danny, a couple with 2 really cute little boys that we met last week. They are so awesome and very willing to learn!

Friday we went to Gardendale for a meeting for all the new missionaries and their trainers. It was soooo good to be in Birmingham again! It’s definitely home ❤ It was such a good meeting. We talked all about the doctrine of Christ and how to use the atonement in every aspect of missionary work. We spent time on the temple grounds too and the whole day was a good recharge. We saw Nicole with Ana that night and she is still doing great and so excited to be baptized!

Saturday night we had a ward BBQ and it was a huge success! Tons of investigators and less actives came! Literally ward activities are the secret to everything.

Okay Sunday was the greatest day ever! Between us and the elders there were 11 investigators at church!! It was exhausting haha. Prattville is being so blessed right now. I feel so lucky to be here, I love it here soooo much! That night we saw Megan and Danny again and they fed us dinner. Let me tell you, there’s nothing like sitting in a super humble trailer in the middle of nowhere eating chicken and rice. My heart just bursts with love for these people. They are the sweetest.

Oh and we got transfer news and we’re staying yayyy! Shoutout to Sister Anderson for making it through her 1st transfer. If you can do that you can do anything.

God is good!
All my love,
Sister Oscarson

p.s. pday next week will be Thursday because of a temple trip xoxo

I love my Baby Anderson ❤
